Welcome to the World conference on Floating Solutions 1.-3.9.2025 Espoo, Finland

Bluet Floating Solutions is hosting the 5th World Conference on Floating Solutions (WCFS 2025), which will take place from September 1st to 3rd, 2025, in Espoo, Finland. This global event is organized in collaboration with the Society of Floating Solutions and supported by leading educational and research institutions like VTT and Haaga-Helia, and it promises to be a pivotal gathering for experts and innovators in the field.

About WCFS

The World Conference on Floating Solutions (WCFS) was first held in 2019, initiated by the Society of Floating Solutions, Singapore (SFSS), to foster global collaboration and share cutting-edge research and developments in floating solutions. Since its inception, WCFS has traveled the globe, with conferences held in Rotterdam, Tokyo, and next to be held in Hong Kong in December 2024.

WCFS 2019 – Singapore: Focused on integrating floating solutions into urban planning to address land scarcity and environmental challenges. https://wcfs2019.floatingsolutions.org/

WCFS 2020 – Rotterdam: Emphasized the implementation of floating structures for sustainable development in inland and coastal waters. https://www.pavingthewaves.org/

WCFS 2023 – Tokyo: Focused on leveraging floating technologies to advance the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). https://wcfs2023.nextsdgs.org/

WCFS 2024: 2-4 December 2024 in Hong Kong with the theme “Floating solutions for sustainable ocean development and blue economy” https://events.polyu.edu.hk/wcfs2024/home
The event will concentrate on innovations in floating technologies for sustainable ocean development and the blue economy.

Remember to register and join!

WCFS 2025 will explore the theme “Floating Solutions for Sustainable Urban Waterfront Development and Blue Economy.”

The conference’s theme explores sustainable, innovative floating solutions for urban waterfront development, addressing urbanization and climate change. With floating solutions, one can improve the usability of the old and new waterfront areas, fulfil the needs of new space and give habitants and visitors new ways and frames for activities, experiences and living – on top of the water. All in the core of Bluet’s mission and vision of floating future.

Conference also promotes blue economy, advocating for the sustainable use of ocean resources for economic growth and ecosystem health. Floating solutions enhance not only urban development but also aquaculture, energy, sports and tourism, with applications like floating pools offering clean and safe recreational swimming sites to areas with poor water quality.

The World Conference on Floating Solutions 2025 is aiming to gather a diverse audience, including architects, engineers, urban planners, biologists, social scientists, consultants, manufacturers, developers, government officials, researchers, academics, and postgraduate students. With an expected attendance of around 250 delegates from across the globe, the conference will be an excellent forum for networking and exchanging knowledge.
